You hatched a mandarin? Lovely! That has to be one of the prettiest ducks, in my opinion! The male's coloring is just off the charts! Please post lots of pics as it grows.

Sure! unfortunately the eggs I left with the mom all died in the shell : ( . That happened last year too. I will have to take all the eggs next time. Hopefully this will be a boy. I have 2 hens and one drake now.You hatched a mandarin? Lovely! That has to be one of the prettiest ducks, in my opinion! The male's coloring is just off the charts! ohh so now we also have a mallard duckling with the call ducks and the call ducks are 4 days old and the mallard 3 days old and there is a giant size diifference
well thats wrong already sorry but i dont think u know what i meant, the guy feeds them laying crumbles as there main feed when its time for them to get off of start and grow and all its known that if u give start and grow to adult ducks they will get foot and wing problems
i asked when should i stop giving them start and grow and start them on regular feed so they dont get leg problems.
Flock raiser is fine but layer crumbles have too much calcium for a duckling that is not using it to produce eggs
I give mine Gamebird Feed when they are hatching to getting ready to go outside, protein count 24% I think, might be 26%, once outside they get the layer crumb. Never had any issues.Starter/Grower should be given for the first 10 weeks of life, then Grower/Finisher after, and Layer Crumbles during breeding season when they are laying. That's all I've ever done with my Calls. They love it and have absolutely no problems with their legs or their wings!![]()
And he can jump!
