My bator is acting up sooooo bad. I have no water in there I took out the plastic water pan. Took out the floor screen. Just have the eggs on the turner. And yet humidity is still reading 40 to 48. Grrrr everyone is getting sticky.

And retaining water. How!!

I know it isn't any help to you right now, but I am experimenting with different things in an empty Bator to lower humidity. Salt, rice, etc. Sorry I don't have any answers yet. But will let you know if anything helps. Good luck

What will you do?
if she sends me more Magpies I will have to DIE. Right now I'm having a major humidity issue, I just can't get it low, I've tried a dehumitifier, I've tried baken soda, Just stays at 40??? Chickens are doing great but my duck eggs are getting STICKY and or WET, I'm going absolutely CRAZY right now.

I've lost all the eggs I got from Diane, but I have my own batch in there that are due in 1 1/2 weeks and I'm Stressing HARD CORE, I lost two yesterday very very sticky. I don't know what to do. GRRRRR

Oh no. I am sorry, Lacrystol. Geez this bating is a science. I am glad your chickens are doing well though. Here's an ignorant question but can you buy a new duckling incubator or is it a matter of getting the conditions just right and tweaking things?

No the bator doesn't matter, I could have a thousand of them, it's the conditions and trying to figure out what works. I did a test on my room, 73% humidity just in my room, No wonder the bator is reading 40%.

I thinking I have to start misting them, perhaps that will help evaporate some of the moisture, However, I already know it's going to cause the chicken eggs to get sticky. So much more easier to hatch in the winter then the summer. Sounds strange I know but when humidity goes up around us, things change in the bator..

The last one I tried so hard to save, OMG, he was PURE white with a NICE Black spot on his head. THE CUTEST LITTLE THING I ever saw. LOL

Can't say Enough about Diane, she's been helping me, and with what she's done so far OMG, I'M SOOO THANKFUL.... HANDS UP TO HER. WOOO HOOOOOOOOO, She really deserves an award for all her hard work..
