I've Taped my eggs to the turner so that they are laying down and once hatching time, I put them on the bottom but take out all the tray's that I can, I have to keep the turner in but shut off, I keep like one or two trays in there for the weight other wise the wire flooring curls up..Never thought about putting a piece of shelf liner down for them. HUMM GREAT IDEA just don't know if it will be heavy enough for that wire flooring which apparently has to be in there..I wouldn't stick anything to the shell, ever... gas exchange within the egg is important for proper development...
I use the grip tight shelf liner across the bottom of my bator on top of the mesh... you could use a much bigger piece and bunch it up in spots to elevate the ends...
I recommend putting that stuff across the mesh anyways, had a Call get his bill stuck in one of those tiny squares...
