Call Ducks or Bantams...Crazy Animals Around the Farm

I'm late to the party as always. Life is too short not to enjoy every minute possible.

Today we went to Petco, I got 4 more angel fish, a pair of gouami, and 2 more hamsters, Campbell's. One of my Robo hamsters isn't doing well, and I expect him to pass soon. So sad. He has a swelling on his jaw that isn't an abscess, so I assume a tumor. He's been a great little Hammy.

We don't generally get into the -30's F too often, but I believe a crop can freeze at those temperatures. We are freaking freezing in the - teens with -20's wind chills. I probably would use a heat lamp at those temperatures. Dry feed is best, and natural.

My chickens are looking very cold too but they are hanging in there. Ducks still taking baths in the cold. I'm happy to be in the house.

Are these snowy mallards or snowy calls? These pictures were taken about a year ago, but I couldn't get any recent photos to load. They've partially lost their dark heads as they got older. Both hens.

We have two 2 year old pet mice, and they seems so healthy except one is coughing up Porphyrin (looks like blood), so she must have an upper respiratory infection- but it’s been this way for months!

I also have a Gourami, along with a Pleco and Oscar. The Gourami and Pleco are at least 4 years! We’re about to move though, I hope they survive the trip :fl

I don’t think it can get that cold here in Louisiana. My ducks were hiding in their coop from the fireworks though... poor babies!

Rodents are a new realm for me. I haven't figured out what to do with them when they are sick. Vets won't see them, so like a lot of what we keep we are on our own. I tried some dog antibiotics on my Hammy, but now he won't take them anymore. I'm not sure if they were helping or not. I read many types of antibiotics are deadly too, so much I don't know yet.

We routinely kill rodents in our house and shed, not that we are overrun, so it is weird to be a hypocrite and keep rodents.
