Calling All Cochin Experts! Help!

I want to know, are all Cochin chicks born with feathered feet? I am interested in some Cochin chicks but they don't look like they have feathered feet from the pics. Does that mean they aren't purebred?

I'm not an expert by any means, I just have lots of Cochins. I would think if they don't have feathered feet, they aren't Cochins at all. I've never heard of one not having feathered feet.

yes they have feathered feet upon hatching

i have hatched about 50 so far this year, all feathered feet. i have also hatched a few cochin crosses (crossed with smooth legged breeds) and they still have feathered legs, though much more sparsly feathered than purebreds.

they hatch with feathered feet.... make sure the feather also grows in the middle toes....

Yes all cochins chicks have feathers on there feet if they do not they are not a cochin and all cochin crosses will have them on there feet also.

Every Once In Awhile You can Hatch a Cochin without Feather feet, esp Hatchery Birds, These should be culled.
