Okay so! For business meetings no you never will bring a bird, those are every month (unless you get a email saying otherwise) and they just tell you announcements, like last time, they told us we would go to a church and make cocoa and cookie handouts, if i wasnt there i wouldnt have done that, and it was really fun! Anyway, IF you choose to do poultry, you dont have to, then you dont bring a bird if you dont plan on showing one, but usually you would because poultry in 4-H probably wouldnt be as fun. I specifically bought chickens seperate from my house chickens just to show at 4-H, making sure they have pretty factors, as im trying to win the medal. One I guess. We're in difference states so the answers to my questions may vary, but I'll ask anyway.
I have a flock with ALV, Avian Leukosis Virus. Being aware that showing is a factor, and other poultry related stuff, is it okay that I wont be able to bring my own birds? Do you ever use your own birds other than shows or?
Thanks, I appreciate the help!![]()
keep in mind you can do lots of things combined, say beef and cattle & poultry, or arts and crafts & poultry, or arts and crafts beef and cattle
just know that thats all the more meetings you must attend and more work to preform!
its also important to note whatever you choose you need documents, you need to choose something to write about. for example, i choose to write about eggs! Egg schedules of my chickens w/ the weight, color, who its from, and time. You could do that, or you could document feed cost, or something long term as a project.
hope that helped, sorry for the ramble!
also sometimes they do zoom meetings instead if the virus goes up or something, so you could just bring your bird to the zoom ones.
