Congrats!!!! What kind of eggs? I set 7 Serama eggs this morning.

My Roo is a barred rock. My girls are barred, columbian and red & black sex link. I also have a Silkie Frizzle who I suspect may be a boy. He's seven months and hasn't crowed yet.
You can follow my blog https://www.backyardchickens.com/web/viewblog.php?id=70557-my-first-hatch

Nice Assortment!

I'm so jealous of you who received yours!
In the down time I read the humidity debate thread... where is the smilie showing a spinning head, full of too much information, about to explode??
There is so much to learn, but it is probably best to keep the first hatch as simple as possible. Oh well. Now to go find out what I win for posting 10 times...

The start of day 4 will be tomorrow!

I candled last time at day 3 and couldn't see anything, but I'm going to try again tonight. So far number 8 DEFINITELY has a busted air cell, so I"m contemplating just removing it now since I have one too many eggs in there to use the auto turner and I'm paranoid about forgetting to turn! I turned 5 times the first day, but have gone down to 3 for the second and third days. I just hate to pull it out since it was one of my shipped eggs and I REALLY wanted them.

What is the likelihood of a busted air cell actually developing and making it to hatch? I know it's busted because when I rotate it, the air cell rotates to the top. It seems to be staying at the fat end of the egg though, even when I turn it upside down. It also seems like it's getting bigger quicker than the others, but I don't want to increase humidity too much just for that one.
