I actually meant my humidity was 80% for the calibration test... now that it's in the bator it's running at 40%, thats about right, right?


I am setting up a calibration test for the digital thermometer now. The glass one is staying steady between 100* and 101*... that's about right too, right?


I have Wheaten and Blue Wheaten Ameraucanas coming in a few days.

So I want everything to be perfect.

The Thermometer on the Mini Advanced is very accurate.
I use a hygrometer in the mini advance that I calibrated and watch the humidity carefully- Brinsea noticed I was measuring my egg weight, and that the loss showed too high humidity so I monitor and adjust several times a day. (see my BYC page "My First Hatch")​

I'm so excited to be joining in! My new Octagon Eco 20 arrived this week and I just set it all up. I have to go dig out my hygrometers and re-calibrate them, and still need to collect eggs for a couple days. Hope to have it fired up by end of the week!

I just calibrated my thermometer and it was exactly 1 degree under. So if it's reading 99.5 it's actually 100.5... ALMOST right about where the glass thermometer is... So what temp do you guys hatch at? The Brinsea book says 99.5 in the manual one I got but online it says 100.5... ? What if I am just a little over... is that ok or should I back it off a touch?

Okay, just wondered! I got to thinking about that! And got a 'lil worried!

Just went into lockdown today.
Now I just have to try and patiently wait for the fun to begin this week.

The local eggs should hatch around 02-02-2011 and the last remaining egg from the shipped group should hatch on 02-04-2011.
