Thank you...the important thing is none of the critters got hurt: Vet bills add up quick with horses especially. I am up to three eggs pipped now. Still checking the bator every 15 minutes: This is worse than Christmas time as a kid....at least then I could carefully pick the tape and peek in the ends of the packages. Now I actually just have to sit back, wait and be patient. Argghhh!
 
What a nerve-wracking journey... got an Octagon 20 Eco midway through incubation due to temp spikes and general awfulness from my not-entirely-trustworthy LG. Hatching some eggs from my flock plus the survivors of some black/blue copper marans eggs that were horribly abused by the post office on the way to my house. Day 20 and I have 2 chicks, 1 pipped, 1 almost out from my own eggs- and to my astonishment, one of the marans eggs has pipped!
 
My eggs went into lockdown today. I'm trying the carton hatch method for the first time. I can't wait!
