OK... OK ...OK... OK...

I had 50 coturnix quail eggs im my brand new Brinsea 20 EX

By day 16 nothing happen most of my eggs in the genessis 1588 will start hatching on the 16 day

But any way

this eggs started to hatch on day 18

out of the 50 eggs

45 hatched

5 not fertile

local eggs from a friend

Well, since midnight is only two hours away here on the West Coast, I guess I should count the chicks that have hatched thus far and call February done.

I hatched 15 chicks (11 of MuggsMagge's "colorful layer" designer chicks and four bantam cohins) earlier in the month and have now hatched 8 more (silver-laced and gold-laced LF cochins). There is a partially zipped egg with lots of movement going on, and a few more pips, but I think this is a good count for February. I really didn't expect the LF cochins to hatch before March 1st!

bordergurl, do you know if Brinsea is making sure the photos are posted on both sites, as the rules stated? There are some photos on the Facebook page that could be part of our hatch along, but are not labeled such, and there are other photos labeled as part of the hatch along, yet they never showed up here. I'm not one to split hares (or chickies) over a generous contest, but it would be good to keep things as smooth and predictable as possible. On my paper here, I do have facebook names matching BYC names, and could message that to Brinsea, if they wish.

I plan on giving Brinsea the names of who posted their pic for the March hatchalong on both sites. I'm hoping that's happenning for the Feb one as well.

I had to take the chicks out as soon as the were dry

they were just to many and were piling on top of the weaker chicks
