How did it do and what were you hatching?

I was hatching shipped eggs ( partridge bantam Silkies ) and was impressed how this bator keeps temperature and humidity.

May I ask how many out of how many hatched? Got any pics of the babies?

Welcome to the thread, and to BYC in general. You'll love it here. Now, tell us about your chickens!

Since I'm living in Belgium, our Silkies are different from yours. Therefore I have LF silkies (bigger than yours) in white and paint and Bantam Silkies (smaller than yours) in partridge and lavender. I also have Lakenvelders.

Gonna try a batch of Jersey Giants in my mini on the 15th. Making sure they come from the roo that is with them now. He is gentler and bigger than the other one I have. If these are fertile and hatch well, somebody's gonna be stew! Wish me luck!

I ordered a dozen from abroad. Four eggs were broken on arrival. So I set eight, three of them had detached air cells. Seven were fertile and developed but one with a detached air cell quit after +/- 15 days. The other 6 that went into lockdown all hatched.

I will see if I can manage to post pics

Yep, I know. We only have bantams.

Ok the eco has been up and running for 24 hours, temp showing at 98 and humidity at 27% w/ 1 chamber filled. The temp showing on the built in, looks like 99.5 but its TINY. Should I bump up the temp or leave things as is?

I like the irony of jersey giant eggs in a mini! I have one hen that is laying and if the eggs are not frozen by the time I snag them I will toss a few in. I almost need to drink my coffee in the coop to get them before they freeze!
