Calling all New Brinsea Owners - PRIZES - March Hatch-a-long

I'll do it again!!! I have ONE little lonely egg that was set February 21 and 6 more set on the 26th. I will be able to tell in another few days if I have any clears on those. I need a bigger bator!!!! I keep getting eggs, but have no more room in the inn! Hahaha! These are my first SILKIES OWN EGGS!!!

Good luck on the March contest everyone. I'll try to keep up to the FB postings and BYC postings on this thread when the pics are posted. I might need some help figuring out who's who in the zoo (you could always PM me to let me know your facebook name)

OvaScope here we come!

I would love to be part of the March hatch. I tried the Little Giant incubators and had terrible hatch rates so through my research I read an article in "Mother Earth News" about Brinsea Incubators and their excellent hatch rates. In September 2009 convinced by the article I purchased my first Brinsea incubators. I purchased a mini advanced and a mini eco manual. After my first hatch I was sold. Over the next several months, I purchased three Octagon 20 incubators with auto-turners and humidity pumps. I found that I had more fertile eggs than places to incubate them so in March 2010 I drove to Titusville to get the Ova-easy 190. On the drive down I convinced myself that I could afford the 380, so I purchased the 380 with humidity pump. I have continuosly hatched chicks from the moment I plugged it in with my hatches occuring about every 7 days. I estimate I have hatched thousands of eggs of various breed. Due to hatch tomorrow are 25 Ameracauna, 10 Black Stars, 20 Barred rock 9 Silkies, and 2 frizzles I have already had two marker chicks hatch. Those are the first chicks that hatch and remind me to move the trays to the bottom of the incubator. I still use the Octagon 20s so I can watch the chicks hatch. Right now I have all three of those full of hatching eggs and a full tray on the bottom of the Ova 380.

Just to point out Brinsea did request that we let them know our BYC name on their posting on their facebook page, "...One chick at least must have hatched in March. Please let us know also your BYC user name. The winner will be chosen at random on April 1. Good luck everybody!" Maybe we could encourage everyone to post their BYC name on their Brinsea facebook picture?

and... I'm collecting eggs as fast as the girls give them up. Of course, one of my hens is hiding her eggs, and I haven't found her nest yet, but if I do, the incubator will be full.

I just got my Advance 20 EX package yesterday! It's all unpacked and set up and running at home right now... patiently awaiting the arrival of Black Copper Marans and Olive Eggers. I'll also be placing my own Blue Wheaten Ameraucana eggs in the bator, with an anticipated hatch around the 24th-26th!
