Calling all Penedesencas Owners/Breeders

Pics
Hey y'all,

I found another breeder in my area. Somehow I missed this website. Have any of you ever done business with Ms. Adams?

Was hoping to pick up some pp pullets and cockerel through Meyer but the local hatchery I was going in on the order said they only had cockerels til the fall. Bother.
mothermastiff is on the yahoo darklayers group but hasn't posted anything there since August.
I'll see if I can find anything out.

Way cool. I have a 2 girls and a boy partridge pene coming in from Meyer in a couple weeks, that will up me to five pp. Very excited. Last week I had 5 dogs trying to get into my big coop and then a couple days later 3 dogs put a big hole im my little coop. My daughter ran out with Windex, lol and chased them off at 2:30 AM, no casualties. I called Animal Control but they told me they are not on the job until 8:30 AM... Today they are bringing by a trap. I am looking forward to catching 'em.

Animal control here only answers the phone during business hours but I was told to call 911 on other hours and that someone is always on duty and 911 will contact the AC duty officer.
Dogs are by far my biggest headache. I don't let the owner pick them up here. I make them go to animal control because like most states you can kill a dog that worries livestock and I don't want the dog to receive a 'get out of jail free card'. I want there to be a record if the dog returns and I have to shoot.

That is a good idea. Tehama County California is a Rural town and even there a property owner was charged with Felony Cruelty to animals for shooting 3 dogs that were on his property.

Eldorado county you can shoot anything except a f##k#n hawk. There are signs posted all over saying
Dogs Harming Livestock may be shot.
You have to be careful though with that though as you are possibly starting something you dont want with someone.
I would shoot a dog as a last defense just do to the fact that regardless if someone is irresponsible to let them out that probably is someones family member or a kids best friend.
Just me though.

I asked the Animal Control lady if I could shoot them in the trap and she said if I do then she didn't want to know. I thought about putting the heads on pikes all around the perimeter of my property. jk. These are 5 big dogs that are aggressively trying to get at my chickens. 3 visits in the past week. The owners are obviously not able to keep them under control. I am thinking about a crossbow. The Animal Control lady said I can legally shoot them on my property. I told her I was thinking of a crossbow so that the owner would know for sure that his/her dogs were where they weren't supposed to be. Should be easy to see an arrow sticking out it's ***. I wish I knew who the owners are... btw, our chickens are my kids best friends. They are costing me sleep, fencing, and in the past, chickens. Hope Animal Control charges them big time, maybe then they will do better keeping track of their pets.

ha ha move to AR here if it is on your property u can shoot it even if it is not bothering anything... its your property and the dog is trespassing Lil... if i know who the dogs belong to i will give them one warning but after that they are gone... luckily all my neighbors have learned so i just have to contend with drop offs... and none of the ones that have been dropped of lately have been chicken killers... its been more than a year sense i lost a chicken to a dog or had to deal with a bad one... on the flip side of the coin my pigs got out and the guy down the road shot them... so just keep your animals where they belong...
