Calling all Penedesencas Owners/Breeders

I haven't hole punched. I know it has been done a long time so I doubt there's a problem with it.
My adults have the big numbered bands and I can barely read them. I doubt I'd get close enough, often enought to see which web was punched.
I'm planning to start trap nesting soon so I can identify lay rates, egg sizes and colors and fertility and attribute those things to specific birds.
The roosters are going back with the hens Monday cause the temps are supposed to improve so I don't have much time to get the nests done.

Names don't work when the birds all look alike.

I moved the Crele Penes in with the UofA Blue Egg layers today.

Of course I took a picture or two first:

You need my kids to come over and name them all. Probably fun to have local kindergarten come and name them, let them catch them so you can read the numbers. Add given name to your records... help promote Pene raising?

I don't need a bunch of kindergarteners freaking my birds out. Besides they would never be able to catch one, just terrorize them.
I'm concerned that trapnesting will disrupt their egg laying.

Mine think I am going to kill them every time I go near them. I am going to try winning them over with meal worms soon....

Yes they will pretend to like you with the mealworms or ground pumpkin seeds then they go back to thinking you are going to kill them.
I think Partridge are the worst when it comes to that.

nice color. both my partridge and empordanesa are laying that color.
