Barry had some nice birds until he got fed up with their wild side. I was wondering where that flock went. I'm glad you found out. I'll definitely be buying some. It would be wonderful to get a little new blood though I'm pretty happy with my birds.

My roosters were segregated till the 5th and I didn't get any fertiles in time to join the Easter Hatch-along.

They have reintroduced themselves with the girls though and they're coming out fertile now so I'm probably going to start setting by Saturday. I have a couple modifications to make to the incy and hatcher that should improve my results. I did hatch out 9 blacks from the eggs I collected the week or 2 after I pulled the roosters back in Dec.
Also good news. Perhaps the handful of us can get our flocks in pretty good shape by then. Lets all agree to seize this opportunity to rejuvenate the club.
Good for you. I think the White Emps are a rare as Blacks Penes.
I agree lets get the club going.
I know of only 3 with the emp's really.
Elias , Luann and myself. sure there are a few more but

I AM UP TO 12 HATCHED !!!!
2 emp's
4 emp x partridge
1 olive egger
5 crele. creles hatching later. I see 2 boys and 3 girls I think so far. ( 4 in the bator still)

I just put a file on the penedesenca yahoo group for breeders of penes and emps to list how many birds they have of each variety, how many roosters and the source of their birds.
I hope people use it and they don't find the idea invasive.
I would love to know what the population of each is in the US.

And congrats Jason.
What percentage is your hatch rate from pures vs. crosses.
I am getting alot of the crosses. The first ones where the 2 emp's and then some emp x partridge pene
now crele and a few crosses. Some are in the bator still. will try and get a better count when all are fluffy

I tried to add my info but would not save it :(

It said read only for me too. I could simply give the info for someone to enter it if they like. That would also prevent vandalism.

I have a partridge pullet soon to be laying from MPC. Besides my daughter's light brahma this is the chicken that she likes to hug the most.
In a few more months another partridge pullet hatched from an egg from MPC should be online. (1 of 12 hatched).
I have 2 partridge pullets and 1 partridge roo under the lamp in my house that are 3 1/2 weeks old. They are from Meyer and they are definitely more spaz than my MPC chickens.

wish it was partridge...

I was afraid it would be read only.
I tried to set it up for editing but y....groups IMO leaves something to be desired. Maybe it's just me.
If you PM me here or e-mail me on the pene group I'd be happy to enter the info for you.
