these hatched early a day. I wonder if the hen was on them in the coop a day.
I am worried they will have to stay in too long but I know they can stay a few days

If there are no pips on the other eggs get them out of there!

My last two hatches had one each die that were in the hatcher more than a day.

sweet... i emailed the seller and he says his all have correct combs and that he got them from Berry Cofler(sp?) and that between him and Berry it has been a closed flock from 2002... so this might be one of the best places to get blacks from in the USA... at the very least get some for an out cross... i told him to keep posting them to eBay cus as soon as i sold some stuff on eBay i was gonna buy some...

Barry had some nice birds until he got fed up with their wild side. I was wondering where that flock went. I'm glad you found out. I'll definitely be buying some. It would be wonderful to get a little new blood though I'm pretty happy with my birds.

My roosters were segregated till the 5th and I didn't get any fertiles in time to join the Easter Hatch-along.

They have reintroduced themselves with the girls though and they're coming out fertile now so I'm probably going to start setting by Saturday. I have a couple modifications to make to the incy and hatcher that should improve my results. I did hatch out 9 blacks from the eggs I collected the week or 2 after I pulled the roosters back in Dec.

As for the Club website i was the webmaster for 2 years and put up all that u see on it now... but the owner had to renew my admin privileges once a year... and he did not do so 2 years ago... i have used all the numbers and email addresses i have for him and can not get ahold of him... he paid for the site for 5 years so it should run out next year i think... if it does i will buy it up and redo it and keep it up to date...

Also good news. Perhaps the handful of us can get our flocks in pretty good shape by then. Lets all agree to seize this opportunity to rejuvenate the club.

Good for you. I think the White Emps are as rare as Blacks Penes.

Yes the white Emps are hard to come by... when i went on my anniversary vacation i lost my white Emp male... have no idea what happened (in-laws doing chores) but i have 2 very nice young roosters growing out that i hatched late last fall... they are not ready to breed yet but maybe another month or 2 they will be... so i am hopping for a good year for my white Emps this year last year sucked... so until one of those boys starts breeding i am hatching all project eggs i have 2 dozen in the incubator right now... this will be my 3rd year on this project and i cant wait to see what i can hatch...
