Calling all Penedesencas Owners/Breeders

you did a dry hatch? what was the humidity reading with no water the first 19 days? id imagine as the chicks grew in the shells humidity would add somewhat

It started around 21%. Then it rained about 3 feet Christmas week. It maxed out at 26%.
It maxed out at 71% after adding water on day 19

Out here in the summer it wouldn't be over 15% likely but i bet this time of year would be in that range

Our summers are hot and humid. Im using a GQF hova 1588. I have never seen it hit 30% even with 3 weeks of very very high humidity.
This is probably my 10th dry hatch. For my house and bator...it is the most successful method

Just a reminder anyone with Penedesenca @bamadude you should too.

The Livestock Conservancy still has its Poll Census up.
I highly encourage anyone with Penedesenca to fill it out.
This would be a big step for us to get them listed

www.livestockconservancy.org

they are doing a breed census on numerous breeds trying to get a accurate count as possible .
I am hoping that by having enough people submit there numbers they will list them on there website.
This would be a good step in getting more people into them.

I am biased but lets make no mistake if you need a heat hardy alert chicken they have no equal.
Dark brown eggs are a plus
