Calling all Penedesencas Owners/Breeders

wow that's some good looking birds... you ever have any trouble with red in the roosters hackle or saddle feathers???
When I first started, most of the roosters looked more like partridge than black. Out of 10 roosters I only had 2 that were all black and had white in the lobes. A couple generations in the lobes are really nice but I've had one or two red/copper hackle feathers on the boys with the best lobes.
A bigger concern for me now is that about half of the hens have mottling or faint white tips after they molt, especially on the fluff and thigh feathers.

Hi all! My name is Megan and I live in Northern California. I'm currently in Spain and when I get home tomorrow I have a dozen Partridge Penedesencas going in the incubator! A friend is going to do it for me since I haven't hatched before (I'm very new to chickens!) Can't wait to see how many hatch!

Does anyone know where the Partridge Penedesencas came from in the US? I'm guessing it's only been a couple years since they've been in the states so was wondering the origin (not meaning Spain).

I am not sure who brought them here. I was told 2005 however J Poole who is on Ebay has had them since then so likely he may know if he was not one of the original 's
