I would suggest getting a much larger litter box first.
Second I would put some type of bedding in the whole cage... It looks too slippery.

I don't know why his poor little butt is nasty but I'm going to guess because he sits in his own piss. The horse pellets spread a few inches thick in the entire cage might help Get him off of his own filth.

If you are afraid of a rex shedding you do not want an angora....

Poor little guy. Don’t trim, just brush and pluck the lose chunks. Any cat brush will do. Dog brushes will work too, but theyre bigger and a bit harder to use.

I love how absorbent wood shavings are, but your rabbit might just yeet then across the room in pure joy so just try to find out what works best for him

Ok, thanks. I also looked it up and it says they’re toxic, so definitely won’t use them. (Also, it’s my neighbors rabbit, not mine, but I’m taking care of him)

They are not toxic, you are safe to use them. There are certain kinds that will mess with them but they do not sell those.

Pine is okay if it's kiln dried and not excessively dusty. I have used it for my animals for over a decade with no respiratory problems.

We also took Kombucha (the bunnies name) for a quick explore. He seemed to enjoy it.
