calling any one from missouri

Snow didn't melt, we had more last night and early this am. and the wind is again blowing like crazy. Haven't seen any frostbite on mine thankfully. I do have the ventilation blocked on the north and west sides and top ventilation on the south and west. They are also stuck in their coop since my run isn't completed. Too many predators to let them loose and too easy to get over a 4 foot fence and lose them in the woods. I will be glad when I can let them outside. Roo is still crowing like crazy. Next weekend it is supposed to warm up.

A couple inches more snow this morning! Now comes the cold....

Hope everyone's birds are OK this morning. -6 on my thermometer @ 4:30am. I will check mine well before I leave for work when I replace their water and food. Yesterday morning they had some polenta. I had tried a coarser corn meal and wasn't crazy about the texture. Let it dry on the counter overnight and chopped it up. It was totally gone when I came home, I assume they liked it. I forgot to get suet when I was at the TSC for dog food last night.

It's 11°F here in SE MO and looking at the run camera everyone is ok. We got an inch or so of snow yesterday. It was funny to see all the chicken tracks in the snow.

I'm sure glad I figured out how to make the vertical nipple water bucket work in single digit weather.
