calling any one from missouri

Looks like a young spotted salamander. At first glance I thought baby hellbender but it isn't. I've never seen one of the latter in the wild.
I tried to google ID it but i wasn't sure which one it was. 🤷‍♀️

I also have this big @ZZ toad that comes up on the porch almost every night lol

Amphibians, especially newts and salamanders are a sign of environmental health. Seeing live ones in the wild is a good thing. They are among the most vulnerable wildlife affected by toxins and climate.
Maybe you can answer this for me.
we're starting to get ticks in the yard. I've been afraid to spray because i didn't know if it would hurt my frog friends. Any idea?

Also... if that was a spotted salamandar,
How's come it didn't appear to have any spots?
That's where i was confused on the ID.

We have a bunch of those little blue tailed things i thought were lizards. But after going down the salamander rabbit hole I'm thinking they are skinks. I'll have to try and get a picture of one.

We got 1.5" rain Friday night and another 1.5" last night---it's still pouring...

Radar looks so colorful here with reds, yellows, blues and greens... I've not stuck my head outside to see how much the rain gauge shows.

It's been pouring all night and half the morning here. Imma gettin pretty tired of it to be honest.. but.
When it shuts off it'll probably shut off for too long so I'm trying to be grateful 🤪
