I heard Brahmas have a hard time in the heat too. I sprayed water in the chicken run hoping mud will cool off the area around it. Maybe I can plug in a mini fan in there.

I think it is the abrupt change in weather. They haven't had much time to adjust. I have a number of chickens that are panting. I'm not sure that hosing the run is good. That may increase humidity. I add ice to the water.
If I had a chicken in distress, I'd use an icepack under the wing.
My JGs seem to be handling it ok.

Hi all...I'm so glad it's not raining that I'll TRY not to complain about the sudden heat wave lol. The 4-5 week old chicks are loving it but the blk cochins are definitely in the shade.
