Barb - I was thinking the same thing - I'm part Cherokee, but have blond hair and green eyes. I wonder how many dogs out there have pit in their background but don't look it. If they are going to require DNA testing maybe they should require it of all mixed breeds of unknown parentage. The whole thing is just really stupid. I'm glad I live in a place where dogs are judged on their actions, not their breed. Even though I don't own any of the usually banned breeds, I still really hate BSL.
I looked at the website for the DNA testing and they say it can't be used on purebreds. Hmmm - I wonder why? If they can supposedly say what breeds are in a mix, why can't they test DNA from a purebred and confirm that it's a purebred? That's why I'm skeptical of the test.
Equest - I feel really bad for you and I hope it works out.
