Suddenly... I have 4 broodies!
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say..

They don't like to brood in the buckets.

Ever since I have had the duck palace, I have only had one duck choose to brood in the bucket.
I spent some time watching her and observing her behavior, and I have to say I don't blame them.
I could tell it was hard for her to roll the eggs and position them the way she wanted them.
And it was hard for her to get comfortable. it might be better if I put a board across the bottom to help keep the shavings built up in there,
part of the problem is the eggs want to roll out every time they get off of the nest. but for now I just decided to remove some buckets so they could nest in between them.

They definitely don't mind laying eggs in the buckets. But they did not decide to brood until I removed some of them.
