@katefollot , did you get a resolution to this situation? I have a duck going through a similar ailment on her right foot..
We know she has some calluses, but this crack/cut is really throwing us for a loop as far as a root of the cause (it’s not swollen, but a hard “knot” under the surface that protrudes medialy off the joint). She does slightly limp over it, and rests it up every now and then, but otherwise it doesn’t bother her. I checked her left, healthy, foot and she’s building more calluses on there due to a shift in her weight. Perhaps it is just dry skin after all in our case.
