Campine Chicken thread?

Pics
Yes, chamois is easily recreated, but is not in the standard, so I have no interest in it, except to admire a pretty bird. I can't get past the thought that the time and effort would have been better spent on improving the Silvers!

I will help you with the download, Drie, what do you want me to do? Email it? PM me......

I am not in need of the roosters, but I would love to see some pics! Maybe there's someone that will fall in love once they see them. Please share your beautiful birds with us here, we all admire the Campines, we will also appreciate your Brakels.

A dear friend (Apdeb from CT) came to my house yesterday and helped me choose the best Silver Campine pullets from my flock. We pulled 19 from the temporary grow out coop and moved them to the breeder coop. There are at least 20 more that didn't make the first cut. They will remain in the grow out coop until they mature to see what they do, but I will sell some if anyone wants them.

We also "ranked" them into three groups by quality. She will be taking the number two group and a top pick from the number one group to my breeding partner in Massachusetts along with three nice cockerels. I'm also sending her two bantams, seven Ameraucana chicks, a young Campine cockerel, and maybe one more surprise.

After that, we had lunch and did some sightseeing, came back to veg on the couch a while, then went out for supper. It was great fun to have a chicken friend actually here to talk to. Don't get me wrong, I love all my cyber-chicken friends, but you all can't walk out to the coops with me. There are no knowlegeable large fowl chicken people around me at all. Oh, there are people who thing they know chickens, but they are not show/standard people. Well.......there's one..........but he's just strange.

Update - I sold nine Campines to a woman that lives about three hours from me. I am delivering them to her today because I have to go there anyway for a cross country meet. I sold them on FB and will get $200 total. Not too shabby for my first time selling and it only being the "seconds." I will try to post some pics of them later.

This is Gypsy Rose my golden campine hen...she is about 2 months and a week old here. She is very friendly and will actually jump onto my arm. I plan to get more....I just love her!

Can anyone tell me at what age they typically start laying?
