Camping in Kentucky?

We are planning a camping trip for october to cumberland gap. Has anybody here even camped there? We are tent camping to get in touch with nature.

We camped down skyline drive last vacation and had a blast. We are looking at the national parks and I'm just looking for some pointers. Thanks

If you are experienced campers you'll love Kentucky. Expect very cool night temperatures, take plenty of water, and the usual camping gear. Expect the usual camp critters: opossum, raccoon, occasional bear and snakes. Absolutely wonderful hiking trails-very challenging-I visit the Natural Bridge every time I go. Lots of good spelunking, too!

Thanks for the information. The natural bridge was on our list of things to see. We like to go camping in oct. because it is the off season, and we will be prepared for the cool nights.
