Hey all you knowledgeable BYC'rs! I have some chicks that were hatched on Thursday. They have been doing just wonderful. One chick though had a tiny piece of dried poo over her vent area and seemed to be trying to push it off. So I got a warm wet paper towel and let her sit on it until the piece loosened up and came off. Thought she was good to go. But now she kind of staggers around trying to pick at her vent and it is pulsating and looks like it is sticking out. I soaked her butt in warm water thinking maybe she got blocked up from the dried piece being there and it might help her to go, but no luck. Any suggestions?

ive had chicks so that. i always thought it was swollen from the poo being stuck. i soaked in warm water, kept it clean, and rubbed in just a *TINY* bit of neosporen, too much will make debris stick to their bum again, so very very little rubbed in. could you maybe add a pic? the can prolapse, but in my chicks it was more swelling and they all lived.
