Out of all the chicks I have hatched out of my rooster (8) only one has turned out to be a rooster. Do my roosters genetics produce hens? Or am I lucky?

Definite luck, or your girls just lean towards more hens. Did your one roo come from a hen that produced hens too? Scenerio here, three hens were bred. One egg from 2 seprerate hens both hatched as hens. 3 eggs from another hen all roos "ok, one im 90% sure is a roo other two are soild dudes.:)
Ok. Each chick has a different mom are they all the same?

I was wondering the same thing. I have one roo and have 3 mother hens. 5 out of 5 chicks are females. 2 of the mothers are silkie (partridge and one white) and a bcm .

He came from a hatchery. I ordered 4 buff Brahama bantams. 3 were roosters an one was a hen. Does that make a difference?
