Can adults eat grower feed?

This is all very interesting and informative. As a newbie, I know very little. I have looked on various websites looking at poultry products and wonder what a lot of the products would be used for. Now, I am getting some answers!

There's a lot out there, but I keep it simple.
I look for a feed with 18-20% Protein that I can get fresh and in a size bag I can use before it goes bad.
Oyster Shells in a separate container.
Granite Grit in a separate container.
Fresh water.
Clean Bedding.
A first aid kit for poultry.
Treats; I get a mixed bird seed and I give them bruised fruit and veggies past their prime, but not rotten.
And they give me beautiful eggs. GC

X2....though I do go the extra step of providing fresh, live mealworms......not sure that's really an extra step given how ridiculously easy and low maintenance those are to raise. Also "clean bedding" here is relative, lol, deep bedding in the coop (cleaned about twice a year) and deep litter in the run (16 months into the current litter and nowhere near needing work yet

LMAO at the no such feed and photoshopped comments. That looks like what we call a "ration balancer" for horses. It's meant to be a concentrate and you dilute it, I didn't realize some manufacture it for chickens. @BlackHackle any chance you'd take a pic of the ingredients? I'd be really interested to see it. If I had the time and room, I keep kicking around the idea of doing my own rations so it's fresh and high in animal protein.

Yea, the ingredients are all trashy but the food sure makes a huge difference from using blasted layer rations

I have is this: If you cut the ration with plain grains, what does that do to the overall mineral and vitamin balance by the time you are done cutting? Interesting option for sure, and your results are the proof of the puddin'. Can you tell us what grains you cut with, and what your final protein goal is. Do you use any other supplements?

I'm getting the pics now. It'll be a 3 month old Barny roo with a 2 month old Sussex roo

Well, I cut it with split wheats, corns, peas, and barley. I am no expert with vitamins and minerals, but I do ad in Oyster Shells and sometimes herring meal. My final protein goal is a good 27% at least.

I have been feeding a mixed flock of 50 22% gamebird feed I buy at my local grain elevator 50 pounds for 12.00 and they go thru it pretty quick with oyster shell on the side
What I have noticed is I get BIG eggs. Today I had two that looked like duck eggs.
Could it be the protein?

I haven't noticed a change in the eggs size while feeding it. Some breeds like ISA Browns and the like are bred to lay large eggs
