Can anyone help as to whether I should assist in hatching?

I have just started day 22 of my first hatching experience of shipped eggs with dodgy air cell that only two have made it thus far. First chick hatched (egg 1) 27 hours ago and is doing well and is now in the brooder. However, my final egg (Egg 2) has not externally pipped yet? I placed a safety hole 25 hours ago because I thought it had been internally pipped 40 hrs ago as I heard faint peeping. However, I am now not sure as when I took the opportunity to candle it this morning (when I took the chick out to go into the brooder) I cannot see a beak in the air cell. However, it is still wobbling. Do I intervene and start to pull some shell away above the air cell? I really would like someone more experienced to give me the go ahead. I have read the Assisted Hatching article so am prepared but not sure whether to or not? Please Help.

I have helped hatching before first time it went great I helped because the chick had been trying for ages and I was worried it was going to die. But the second time went wrong because I did it too soon so it’s yolk sack was still out, maybe you could just try find it’s beak and open the shell a little bit around there so if it is ready it will try, but I am no expert so I don’t wanna tell you something and it all go wrong so maybe see a few peoples opinions, hope it all goes well 👍🙂

Since its been that long I would assist. Read this article first if you haven't already. https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/guide-to-assisted-hatching-for-all-poultry.72886/

I use tweezers to remove the shell. I only remove enough to allow the chick to push out of the shell when ready.. If you notice the chick moving its mouth like its eating leave it alone. It normally means it hasn't fully absorbed the yolk yet. If you see any veins stop and wait.

Posting pictures of your progress will help us here assist you on assisting the chick.

Hi, we hatched for the first time in April. We had three eggs hatch and one of took nearly 48 hrs after it started wobbling, pver 24 hrs after chirping. In the meantime, the hatched chicks were peeping like crazy and even moving the egg, as if they were trying to encourage it. I also heard it chirping, but ony faintly off and on. We were so nervous about it and had a video camera on it! Some of the shell came down but the membrane inside seemed in tact. We didnt interfere but prepared for the worst, even leaving the hatched chicks in the incubator extra long. In the end ot hatched and was fine. Are there other eggs to hatch inside or chicks there? Did any tiny piece of shell plop off..any cracking in the shell? I didnt assist because we saw something red under the membrane and worried it was a vein....

Sorry, I read more carefully. No other chicks, 40 hrs....no cracks? I recommend assisting and preparing for the worst, hoping for the best. Positive surprises are the best! I hope it goes well!

Ok, I'm going to go and try? It would be nice to give the little chick a friend if nothing else. Thank you. Fingers crossed!

Ok so definite HELP needed. I have removed shell over air cell, white membrane stuck over chick which I have covered in coconut oil but cannot see any definition to anything really should I have pierced the membrane or not. Looks kinda of bloody but there was movement so I have placed it back into incubator with wet paper towel (away from chick) to increase humidity.
