Can anyone identify the breed of this duck?

Found this baby duckling maybe about 4 weeks ago.
It was lost with no mum in sight.

It's starting to change and develop more but I have no clue what sort of duck it is.
Or even if it's a local wild duck.

Just wondering if anyone here might be able to throw some educated guesses my way?

Not a Muscovy doesn't have the scovy bill maybe a mix? Where did you find the duckling

@CourtneyTartan
We found the baby on our property the morning after a big storm.
It was scared and very lost. None of our neighbours have any baby ducks, so we have no clue where it's come from.

we just call it the mystery duck.

Not familar with Ducks in Australia...:idunno
Yeah, that's fairenough.

My grandfather thinks it's a Pacific Black Duck as we have a few that visit us and scavenge our property for food. It's just hard to tell seeing as it's feathers at the moment just seem to be black and a whitey cream colour on the chest.

Obviously still has plenty of time to change and develop though.

I have no idea what species it is. I just looked up what pacific black ducklings look like and it’s definitely not one of those (but I do not know ducks in Australia so this could be wrong). :confused:

Yeah, I'd also searched up what they were meant to look like and thought it didn't quite add up. My grandfather is convinced it is though. I dunno though.

I thought once it started developing more and getting new feathers it'd be easier to tell what it is.. it's just getting harder aha.
