LOL Well either he was making small talk... or like many folks who have never actually been around chickens... believes them all to be of one particular breed. Like my friend, who is no idiot, but still thought that ALL roosters were red

well if he was like my mom (god bless her) he was hinting around that you couldn't possibly need all those chickens so you must not use them for eggs therefore the real questions is "when are you getting rid of them?" Now I know this may seem confusing but I have lived with this my whole life. It is people who can't just come right out and tell you what they think, so they go about it in a way that makes you question their intelligence. I really think he was elluding to the question of " when are you getting rid of them.

Sounds to me like he was trying to find out more about what types of chickens you had. He may be trying to learn something and interested in doing the same thing you are. People are funny when they don't know how to ask the right questions. My neighbor asked what I was going to do with 26 chickens and no rooster to make them have eggs. So I guess you can say nothing surprises me anymore.

Ah my neighbor does the same thing god bless her little old heart. I was mowing the yard yesterday and I see her waving her hand and motioning me to come up to her so I drive up to her and she asks me what kind of dish tv I have and she goes on and on about nothing at all

but I just sat there and listened I think she is lonely up there by her self!!!
