Chickens can and will eat any kind of lettuce (not just "dark lettuce," but light green, red, and purple too)! As they will most any garden greens. Raw potatoes however, no. If you have a lot of potato peelings, you could consider cooking them up and feeding them to your birds. Cooked potatoes make excellent poultry fodder.

I don't think they can eat raw potato peelings but they can eat lettuce.

They can have cooked potato peelings as long as there aren’t any rotten or mouldy bits….
