Can chicks go overnight without water?

We had to buil nest down there bc the chickens refused to quit making their own little nest down there. I wish she would have chosen a nest inside the coop.

Good point! I mean really, if it’s totally dark, they wouldn’t even be able to see water, let alone drink it!

Try putting marbles or rocks in the water so they can stand it it without getting their fur wet. The rest is up to the hen. She knows what to do. Chill. Good luck

Just a suggestion, but I would remove the board and hay on the right side of the pic and place a watering jug there for the chicks. My newly hatched chicks eat, and drink almost every hour on the hour, then sleep and repeat.

they're use her all night staying warm and safe from predators. I'd bring then water at dawn and take it up at dusk.

The dad is a buff Orpington and now the nest next to them was claimed by a Broody Cochin last night. She was trying to steal her chicks but the mama hen was not letting that happen lol.

Thanks for the advice they went the night without water, although I watered them at 11:00 and then agian early this morning so it was only a few hours.
