I got 25 day old cornish rocks today. They are all adorable little yellow chicks!! I noticed though that a couple of them have fuzzy feet, is that possible with cornish rocks or did they give me a couple of wrong chicks??

The chicks that seem to be feather leged will not be meat chickens. Within days the broilers will be out growing them.

Thanks! I checked what kind of chicks that hatchery has and it's a very limited variety so I think the ones with feathered feet are Light Brahmas. Now I have to do a head count and see exactly how many of my cornish rocks aren't cornish rocks!!

No way can your broilers have feathered feet, hatchery screwed up somehow, imagine that LOL. Now Light Brahmas are great birds you will enjoy them.

They were Light Brahmas, I went back to the Farmer's co-op (for more pine shavings) where I had ordered the chicks and told the lady in charge about the mix up. She said another customer had ordered those 2 Brahmas and they couldn't figure out where they had gone, so I returned them.

I was going to keep them, but really we don't need any more this year anyway. I already got more chicks than I had planned on, lol. But hearing all of the nice things I have about Brahmas I am pretty sure I will get some of my own next year.
