hey
Someone gave me a pond like this

Instead of putting it in the ground I want to build a deck for it to sit in. Kinda of figured to woudnt be ver far off the ground . I'll let the pond sit on the ground and make the deck be around the lip of it.
Thinking of putting two or three ramps so they can climb up and get in. Thinking of making the deck either two foot or three foot all around the pond.
Doing it this way so maybe all I have to do is pull the plug to let it drain so I can clean it out.

Anyway its going to be in my Muscovys and as of now My Cayugas.
Do you think They can figure out how to go up the ramp??

Yes, they'll figure it out almost instantly. When you introduce them to the setup, throw a favorite treat in the pond to help entice them. One time, and they'll "get it."

Mine use Ramps !! They have a ramp from their pen into their Hut and I NOW have a ramp in the water of their pond for
easy in and out ( dont have pic ) heres my easy drain, clean, and refill pond set up. Good Luck

I picked up a couple of free pallets at the local water softener place -- I was able to hunt through the "free" pile until I found a couple that were a bit smaller than normal, with much tighter boards, almost no gap in between, and they were almost square, very sturdy and heavy. Sure beat having to build something. One fits the kiddie pool almost perfectly, and the second one is the deck for them to get in and out.

Took my Pekins some training but eventually they got it. Treats going up the ramp did the trick. One fella stick isn't great at it, but eventually he gets it
