i have a silkie hen who i think may have scaly leg mite but it is not very severe. she has a few chicks and i was wondering if it could spread to them?
and im treating it with vetRX each day so can this hurt the chicks?

I don't have any experience with vetrx, but i would start oiling or vaselining the momma's and all the chicks' legs every day to prevent any infestation of the scaly leg mites.

In a word, yes, scaly leg mites have no respect for age. Treat your entire flock of birds, even the ones not showing any lifting scales on their legs yet. Feel free to continue with the VetRX. It contains (among other things) camphor and corn oil, and both are recommended by some sources for treating scaly leg mites. Neither ingredient will harm chicks.
