yeah, I need an egg turner, I can see that right now. I didnt with the first batch and only was able to turn them two times a day. with overtime and all, sometimes it was way over time to turn them before I got home. So, YES.. I am going to buy a turner. PRONTO!!! My neice gave me a whole GOB of eggs frest from her coop today at Thanksgiving dinner.. Yeah, I have been looking for ones to buy on here and this way I will get more practice before I spend any money on silkies, which is what I really want.

Unless you have two incubators or a cabinet incubator, I wouldn't do a staggered hatch.

I had one with some eggs that were thee days behind and I wish I wouldn't have done it cuz I only got one to hatch out of the 2nd group.

from what everyone on here is telling me that it isnt a good idea. I have decide to wait until this one is finished first. Thanks everyone you are the greatest.

We're having the same issue, we have 10 duck eggs in bator then our silkies started laying eggs this week which caught us off guard...We ended up putting 2 of the silkie eggs in with the others and would partition the bator when they need to hatch but decided to borrow another bator from someone else to avoid problems...Good luck!
