Can i mix chicks of different ages

Awwww!! I love how you can tell who are going to be the friendliest ones by when you go to put them back in the brooder, they don't want to get out of your hand, lol.
My little tiny Bantam babies, only about 4 days old, usually do that. I think that is because my hands are warm...or maybe it's just true love! <3 <3 <3 I'll lower my hand down into the shavings, and they will just snuggle down into my palm and go to sleep. At that point I want to bring them to bed with me, however....then I remember how much they poo and how I don't want to wake up with a chick pancake under me! hahahaha But I have SOOOO much fun with those babies. I wish I knew what they all are....we tried to narrow it down by comparing chick pictures on the internet, and got some possibles...my favorite little one is teeny tiny and silver, with longish wings. The yellow ones seem to be growing a lot faster than the rest, then there are a couple with brown and black and gray, they are medium sized. (which is still only slightly bigger than a golf ball!!)

When the babies first begin to fly, it always reminds me of that old dinosaur movie, The Land Before Time, the very first one....Petrie says "I flyed!!!" and Duckie says, "nooo, you falled."
Or I start to sing from Peter Pan, "You can fly, you can fly, you can flyyyyy" lol.

Yes, I am a nut. Besides 27 chickens, 6 ducks, I also have a husband, 6 children, one son in law, two donkeys, and 26 cats. Before you all panic, the cats seem completely disinterested in the birds....and besides being kept well fed, the donkeys are super protective of the birds and I have seen them chase off any cat that even looks in that direction!! It's funny. I am a little anxious about letting them range, however. Once we get some really big roos, I'm sure they'll be fine....but for now, we only let the ducks and teen chicks out, and only when we are home to watch them.

I might be repeating myself, I'm bad about that, and I can't remember what I've said in other threads!! Ha.
