Can it be a male? :(

Hello everyone, I recently purchased a frizzle chick but I’m starting to wonder if it may be a male instead of female because the crest is very noticeable and is slightly red/pink. It would be 3 weeks old today.
I’ve never owned a frizzle chicken so I wouldn’t know how they look as they start to grow!

With such a pronounced red comb at that age you have a cockerel.

Definitely a cockerel (male, under one year of age), no doubt. Sorry Very cute chick.

I know he is very cute. But I can’t risk him being very noisy and I don’t want a whole bunch of chicks right now.

Though this is very, very rare....there's another BYC member whose Mottled Cochin was every bit as red (perhaps more) and developed at similar age. Turned out to be a pullet.
