Can it be done? Coturnix × Button quail

It would be impossible as they come from 2 entirely different orders of birds. Coturnix quail are galliformes. I forgot the family name of button quail but are shorebirds. It would be like crossing a cow with a tiger. What you probably have is that sme galliforme females in the absence of males can by pathogenesis lay eggs that will hatch into male chick's. It is rare but has been documented in chickens, turkeys, and ducks.
