I am wondering if that would happen. Have anyone tried doing this? I am so curiouse about it. Thanks a lot.
mine are integrated in the same aviary.....and i have not see any particular “interest” between the male coturnix to the female chines (buttons) or vice versa......not to say that it can’t be done....just that buttons tend to “mate” (i had 5 and 1 was killed that happened to be the mate of one male and now the remaining 2 non-mates seem to be loners)

Not at all trying to be rude but even if this was a possibility I don’t like hybridisation because it’s not that natural and the bird could have a shorter lifespan and/or deformities. Japanese quails and Chinese blue breasted quails are just so pretty own their own. Maybe you could think about just breeding the different species. They’re chicks are totally adorable! :)
