Can mites live off people/ infest their house??

I use permethrin. It has worked great for me. I get mine at TSC. You must thoroughly spray your coop, everywhere, every crack and crevice. I also use the permethrin poultry dust in the nest boxes. I had a severe infestation and the permethrin did the trick. It does not kill the mite eggs so repeat weekly treatments is needed. I spray for 3 or 4 weekly treatments and no more mites. The bonus is there is no egg withdrawal period.

Maybe different mites in New Zealand or Australia??? You can buy bug spray for your clothes with permethrin in it here in the U.S....

If I recall correctly, mites from poultry don't live on people. Mites from rodents might be able to.

get ivermectin pour on for cattle..... 3 or 4 drops from an eye dropper ON THE SKIN... then treat your coop with whatever dust you use..... throw eggs away for 3 weeks (precaution)...dust coop n birds in 10 days........ you can do it this way 1 time or fight em for months with just dust.... good luck...p.s.. kills mites, fleas, worms them also...
