Can/should you splint possible broken leg?

I’ve had her over a year and she was already fully grown. The way it looks is that her left foot is pointing in words and the area where her left high attaches looked swollen. I can tell, now that it is very hard and perhaps painful for her to support her own little body. She’s trying hard!!

She was walking sideways, almost in circles to get to where she wanted to be! (Eventually) Very low to the ground.
Same hen as your other thread?

This just now occurred correct? She's walked fine, the legs have seems fairly straight and had no problems until you noticed it this morning?
Possibly Bob got rough with her, it's hard to know.
If there is swelling at the thigh, then I would suspect some type of injury. When did she last lay an egg?
Do you have room to restrict her activity outside with the flock - a dog kennel or crate?
She doesn't seem too stressed, but some are stressed when away from the others and if kept out for a few days, may find it harder to get back with the flock.
I would not let the rooster mate her right now since she's struggling a bit. You may want to confine him and let her with the other girls to see how she does.

Fish, chicken, beef . Then a lot of corn, peas, and they love when I get them crickets or catch fresh Junebugs. I only give them scratch (just a small amount!)in the morning

On your other thread you mention what you feed. Do they free range as well or have access to grass/weeds, etc.?
Do they get extra calcium like oyster shells?
When you can, I would try the vitamins as suggested.
Poultry vitamins can be good, but depending on what you find they can be a bit pricey..
Human vitamins can also be used - Vitamin E and B-Complex. I would look at Walmart or even the Dollar Store, I have found B-Complex there. I don't know about the E, they may have it as well.

Wow!! Thanks! To answer a couple of questions, yes, same hen, sorry! Thought I deleted it, so I tried again! I have her in a big cage, in the coop next to the other two. (I felt guilty..her being alone...) when was the last time she laid? Ha! On my bed this afternoon while I was in process of looking her over...talk about being comfortable!?!?!! Right?
I will keep her near the others...just no touching! Bobs gonna be in a bad mood...Irene puts him in his place and simply tells him where to go! And he leaves her alone. That’s why (I guess) Steph looks so awful! I can totally see her bright pink skin, and that triggers Irene to start picking at her. Thanks for your help...let cha know how she’s doing in the AM!

Well, it wasn’t fun trying to get Steph out of her “confinement” with an extremely upset Bob yelling at me from behind! I am ashamed to say I actually had to grab a broom to keep him away from me. He’s only shown aggressive behavior towards ME once, and that way WAY back when! Anyway, I kept him away form Steph and I, for awhile, then had to put her down for a second, for fear I would get my eyes torn out. She went over and immediately jumped in to take a dust bath. Seems to be much better, the way she was moving. I’m headed back out to see what’s up. I hope I didn’t “act too fast” and let her range too early. I’ll kick myself!Again, thank you for EVERYTHING!! Fingers crossed! Here I go!
