I just had two clutches of precious chicks hatch. One is from a splash maran momma and the other is buff orpington. The daddy is a black (copper? ) maran. I'm not entirely sure that all the eggs hatched were from these two hens either, so trying to see what I've got. And at this point they are busy swapping babies anyway.
There are some black looking marans, some lighter gray and some even lighter. There are two with red heads from the buff. The splash seems to have had all the lighter ones. What should I be looking for?
