It is like a piece of furniture, but unless you have an area where there is no carpet and you can sweep daily, I would think twice. I wish I had . I had a huge white cage that set on a stand that I thought was too small, and really they were happy as clams in it, and this one has the plastic small wire, that i have to wash regularly down with a hot wet rag to get all the poop off. IT's not true that they don't poop when flying, or setting, or just looking around, because they do~~

I have always had big cages for mine, so I am guessing as long as they can comfortably stretch their wings and fly a little bit, they will be happy.

I have Socitys, Zebras, and 1 Orange Weavers male. I have all mine in a 2 foot by 6 foot long by 6 foot tall cage sitting on our Front Screen Porch. They do great there I'll see if I can get pics later.

I had zebra finches, 6 total a white pair, a tan pair and the normal zebra finch pattern pair. they lived in a 5 ft, X 4" X 2 ft flight cage. they were great birds!

If I would say something all six at once would beep, beep, beep, then it would be silent! then if I started to talk to them again they would all go beep, beep, beep, beep!

They were a riot!! but you do need more than one they like to be in groups, they will be very lonely if kept single, they might even fret themselves sick, they are not finger pets, they are not trainable, they prefer to be left in their cage, to do there own thing.
They do best in a Big flight cage.
