Can Someone Tell Me What This Is???

Hi everyone! I've noticed a weird bump on two of my chickens right above or on their earlobe. I don't know a thing about what this is or how to treat it. I put some pictures in below of the two chickens with whatever this bump is on them. If anyone can tell me what it is or how to treat it that would be great! Thanks in advance!

I'm in Louisiana so yes but it has begun to get colder in the past week so haven't really noticed them. But I think whatever the bumps I've noticed a little before the cold weather came through.

How long since you have noticed it? It almost looks like a bot fly especially with the little hole in the middle.

I first noticed it one one of them maybe a few weeks ago and didn't think much of it until we found another chicken in the flock that has the same thing.

If it's been a few weeks and it's still there I definitely would be leaning towards bot fly larvae in there. Google "bot fly bite" they look exactly like that.

It does look similar but everything with the bot fly seems to be on the rear of the chicken and not on the ear lobe. Thank you for your help!

I have removed many bot flies and they were all on the face and neck of animals.

Most likely it's fowl pox, a mild case, and it should clear up in a few weeks. This stuff is contagious from chicken to chicken, though, passed from contact with scabs and any wet discharge from the lesions. Just be aware.
