here's how mine is setup. Originally i built the tractor (5 years ago). Overall it's held up pretty good. This year we built an extended run (where the wooden gate is), 25 ft x 20 ft because my daughter wants to sell eggs to the neighbors and our flock of 5 chickens wasn't going to cut it. The run is actually nice for upkeep - i have a waterer that hangs from the tree in the background, as well as a feeder - both 5 gallon capacity. I can walk in and take care of the feeding and upkeep. There are roosting bars throughout the run, totally covered and enclosed from the ground to the roof.
