Can you help please with the gender

I just read through this thread and want to add something for people scrolling through! For columbian breeds and Lakenvelders, I have never seen a picture of a hen with white outlining the black in the saddle/lower tail area. This *seems* to be cockerel specific. Here's a picture showing this. I cannot say if this is always the case, but I initially realized my Light Brahma was a cockerel because of this and haven't seen an exception yet. Not saying it can't happen (and please show me pictures if you've seen an exception!!) but even black areas in the saddle area does seem to pretty accurately indicate cockerel :) I will add, this does NOT stand for the hackle area. Only saddle because both breeds have the white and black mixture in the hackles
